Ben Grant is the Managing Partner of Lambton Capital Partners, investor in UK & US owner-managed businesses, and author of Unsellable.
He has generated over £300M in commercial revenue for UK businesses. Lambton invests in owner-managed businesses when their founders are ready to step back — keeping the name over the door and the staff in their jobs.
The Story
I grew up in Sunderland. The North East shaped me — its work ethic, its directness, its refusal to accept anything less than honest graft. That foundation never left.
I started as an IT apprentice. When my employer went insolvent, I learned early what it looks like when a business fails the people inside it — and what it costs them. I never forgot it.
I spent the next eight years in B2B sales, generating over £300 million in commercial revenue for other people's businesses. Industries where margins are tight and execution is everything. I learned what actually makes businesses work — and what holds them back.
After a spell abroad, I came home to the North East and founded Lambton Capital Partners — because the businesses Britain runs on deserve a buyer who keeps them running. In 2026 I published Unsellable, the book I wish every owner had read a decade before they thought about stepping back.
